Nancy Wells is the director of International Student Exchange and Study Abroad. She has master’s degrees from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and from Appalachian State University. Nancy has worked in international education since 1996 specializing in advising students for long term study abroad and working with Appalachian’s international partners.
Having lived and traveled abroad, Nancy values the excitement and challenge of learning to live in another culture and enjoys working with students who seek that experience. She finds participating in site visits with our international partners and networking with international and domestic colleagues to be rewarding aspects of this profession.
Nancy has been an active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators for 13 years and served as the chair of NAFSA Region VII in 2008. She also served for three years on NAFSA’s Trainer Corps and has chaired professional development workshop and conference sessions
